Who Am I?

1743732_10153753038340181_340124342_nI’m your average mom who questions every decision she makes in regards to her first born; is that right? Did I set that up correctly? Are the screws in that toy secured tight enough? Am I feeding her cereal too early? When do I start solids? Are all “Terrible Twos” THIS terrible? Does she need a [insert highly necessary/completely useless over advertised baby toy]?

See? I’m a mess. I’m happy to be in this mess, and glad to have one of those awesome good husband/great father hybrids to help me out, but I’m still a mess. And I hear I’m going to stay that way for the next 25 years or so.

I have my BA in Communications from Cameron University (go Aggies!), and I am a freelance writer, as well as a weekly blogger for EverydayFamily. When I’m not playing peek-a-boo and getting spit up on, I’m writing about playing peek-a-boo and getting spit up on. She is my inspiration, and my crazy attempts to understand what the heck I’m supposed to be doing aren’t bad blog fodder, either.

1170939_10153189823030181_911262649_nI married my husband when I was 19 (SCANDALOUS!), and we are going on eight years of a fabulous marriage. He is in the military, and while I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the lifestyle (I would prefer living right next door to my parents, instead of hours and hours away), we are pretty grateful to be living the life we are, thanks to the service. Experiencing three deployments, all to combat zones, has really made us appreciate each other in a deeper way than I ever imagined possible. Okay, end mushy part.

Other than that, I do a lot of reading, a lot of writing, a lot of block building, dishwasher-loading, Wonder Pet watching, tantrum stopping, and laughing. Oh, and at the moment, I do a lot of complaining, since I’m eight-months pregnant with our last baby: a sweet boy this time! Hey, it’s my last pregnancy, I need to milk it while I can. I get a sick pleasure knowing my husband is scrubbing the toilets for me. Only a few more weeks until our family of three turns into four!

Browse, enjoy, and send me a tweet or an email! I love hearing from all types of people!

  1. I don’t have kids, but if I did, I’d be the same way! I question my every move all the time! It’ll be cool to have your memories chronicled here for when you do come home one day and your daughter is 6 hangin’ out with her pony. 😉
